New Wireless Network

Just planning to set one up at home, 2 pcs have usb adaptors and one laptop with built in wifi, all configured at present to an ad-hoc network.

I want to buy a wireless router/modem and link them all to that but the router/modems I see for sale online seem to suggest I need to hook the router/modem to one of the pcs with an RJ45 ethernet cable. Surely not?

"seem to suggest I need to hook the router/modem to one of the pcs with an RJ45 ethernet cable"

Only to set up the router, you can remove the ethernet cable when that has been done and connect to the router wirelessly.

THANK YOU! My head was spinning with that little conundrum. So I do want to get one that supplies the RJ45 then?!
