New System Build - Advice Sought

  maxouventura 11:24 03 Feb 05

I'm considering building a new PC from scratch, although I'm fairly new to the world of PC building. Can anyone please advise me on the components I've chosen (i.e. will they all work together) and if there is anything else I'll need (such as cables etc). Here's my list of components:-

Processor: AMD Athlon 64 3200 socket 939 Winchester
Motherboard: Asus A8V-E Deluxe
RAM: 2 x 512Mb Corsair Value Select DDR PC3200
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 160Gb SATA
Case: Coolermaster Cavalier 3
Graphics: Sapphire Radeon X600 XT 256Mb PCI-E
DVD: AOpen DVDRW16X-DL Dual Layer (E-IDE/ATAPI Interface)
Floppy: Mitsumi FDD + 7 in 1 card reader

Any comments/advice would be greatly appreciated before I say goodbye to the better part of £700.

Looks loverly, i'd get a 6600 GT over the X600XT though, it is a much better card.

Thanks for your advice - a few people have told me that the 6600 GT is a better video card - I assume that with a PCI-E motherboard it doesn't matter whether it's a nVidia or ATI card?

6600 GT PCI-E Card will run fine with that motherboard.
