new soundcard?

not knowing much about this so any help is great!

i have to keep reinstalling my realtek ac97 driver, cant find out much about this problem, aprt from someone suggesting to someone else to buy a half decent soundcard, as realtek have been "sucking" for a while!!

my motherboard is an aopen mx46-800n, so is my sound emebedded, can i get a new soundcard etc etc!?

take your pick from the creative soundcard range. I have an audigy 2 zs that has great sound but there are more recent cards in the x-fi range. you disable ac97 in bios then shut down, install the card, restart pc, new hardware found wizard starts and asks for the driver, use the cd that comes with the card.

il remember that. would i do the same with a graphics card? i think all ive got now is integrated.

with a graphics card it normally auto disables onboard graphics when you install the card.
