A genuine Windows update?

A New window opened in my browser[FireFox] this morning

With what appeared to be Windows security icons and titles and immediately started to 'scan' for nasties indicating the there were Trojans and virus galore- and I should 'click' to clear- which then went to a download option.

As my normal protection [ Zone Alarm security suite]is constantly on the look out- I decided to kill the window and reboot.

When Fire Fox re started the window came back

Its URL is 'imagesscannerwinprotection.com

I think its a scam

Any one know otherwise?

Yes its a scam

I suggest you boot to safemode and scan with Malwarebytes or SuperAntispware

Thanx FB - Malawarebytes is active also, but will carry out an intendant scan to be sure
