New router won't connect to internet

I'm trying to set up my new Belkin ADSL2+ router but I can't get it to connect to the internet wirelessly. I've plugged it all in correctly, accessed the router through the web interface 192.168.2.1 and put in the correct username/ password and changed the WAN settings but I am still having no luck. I've tried pinging the router and that seemed to work okay but it still does not seem to connect to the internet for some reason.

Any help that I can get with this problem would be greatly appreciated!

What lights are on on the router? There should be power, wireless, internet and then one for each port that is connected and they should be green.

Also try setting it up in the master BT skt rather than an extension.

Try resetting the router, a small hole on the back, and set up again putting in only your username and password, accept default settings for everything else.

What does the icon on the task bar say? Acquiring network address?
