NEW Router

I just connected a new router for Sky broadband to replace the fauly one.

I have not re-installed any software from th cd-rom that comes with it.

I can access web sites & e-mail o.k. but when I access the router, it does not come back with the login screen & still progressing on the status line.

IS it because I have not reinstalled the software?
It would be useful to know before I reinstall if necessary.

p.s. It took Sky three weeks to replace the router & even that after I phoned them several times!

Is the router the make as the last one check in the book that came with it that the ip address is the same.

The router is the same make as the last one i.e. DG834GT.

Type cmd into the " run " box and press enter , you will get a DOS box , type ( without the inverted commas ) " ipconfig/all " and press enter again , see what IP address is given for the DHCP server, DNS servers and default gateway , they should all be the same and it will also be your IP address for the router , check in case the default has been altered bt TT .

They are all same as

I was keying in wrong ip address for the router i.e. 198. instead of 192.

It works fine now.
