New PC Vista stalls

  ened 18:02 10 Nov 07

Ihave just built a new machine with an Intel board and Intel Core Duo6600.

Also an oem dvd drive (LG GSA-H62NBAL ).

The machine POSTs okay and starts to install Vista.

When I reach the language page I am unable to click the arrow. It just flashes and disappears.
I changed the settings using the arrows and continued.

Then I reach a screen which says DVD/CD rom driver missing....

The installation then stops because I do not have a driver.

If I did have a driver I do not know how to install it.

I tried installing the mobo drivers through the BIOS but could not see how to.

Sorry if I have missed something obvious but I am in a bit of a panic.

I am thinking og goping to the LG site and downloading the driver but I do not have a floppy and, again do not know how to install a driver without an Operating System.

So sorry for typos it went before I was ready.

Hopinmg somebody can help me move to the next stage.

I have a floppy and older LG on this machine and could use them if necessary.

Somebody please give me a clue?

Now I find that the LG site does not appear to have any drivers for this model.

What can I do?

I have a LG DVD with an IDE connection.

Might that work?

I take it that the LG GSA-H62NBAL is a sata drive,

try an ide drive to load vista then install the sata drivers after.

I didn't realise you needed to install sata drivers.

I will try using my ide machine first thing tomorrow.

I have had enough for one day and am going to relax.

In the meantime any other contributions will be grastefully received.

I am about to close this machine down and take out this DVD which is a GSA-4082B.

I can obtain a driver from LG if I need to but not for Vista. I hope this is not going to be a problem.

In the meantime does anyone know how to obtain the drivers for my new model (GSAH62N) or if a driver from any other model will work?

I have got beyond the disc drive problem but now it has stalled because it says it needs drivers for the Hard Drives. I have two Seagate ST3500630AS 500GB which are SataII and the Seagate site says they should be recognised by the generic drivers.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
