I have recently purchased a new PC. I am installing games previously used on my old PC and every one, when run on the new PC comes up with an error either at the install stage or when I am trying to run them.

Can anyone help and suggest what the issue may be and how I can get around this??

are your old games compatible with your new PC...

And what is your operating system?

....that's probably why (not compatible with some older games, I'm told).

The games that you manage to install should be run in compatability mode for Windows xp.
Right click on the game shortcut and choose properties>compatability. In the drop down list (run this programme in compatability mode for)choose xp or 98 depending how old the game is and tick the box.Click apply and you are done.
As for the games that won't install, which games are they?
They may install bt temporarily or if you wish permanently turning off your UAC first.
Control panel>user accounts> turn user account control on or off.

Thanks to all, especially MrWooWoo, checked the compatability to 95 and the games are running. Much appreciated.
