my current pc is fine but its at its limit for upgrading so im considering a new pc,
current pc spec
p4 2.4 socket 478
gigabyte motherboard
1gig ddr 333 ram
2x 80gb hd
2x dvdr rw
nvidia 6600 gt graphics card
19" belnea tft monitor
ms win xp pro sp2

I want a bit more oomph in the system so with a budget of £500 im considering this but would add extra ram to bring it to 1 gb
What does anyone think?looks a very tidy system to me

thanks

Hi Martd,

Ive never built a PC before and am looking round at the moment for all my bits. I THINK this makes sense, I have to total it all up but then I saw yours and Im reconsidering.

I was looking at
Motherboard - Asus P5B Deluxe
Processor Type – Intel Pentium D 805
Memory – A-Data Vitesta DDR2-800 Extreme Edition
Hard Disk - Samsung SpinPoint P120S SP2504C
Graphics –HIS X800GT IceQ II Turbo 256MB PCI-E

They all got great reviews from custompc.co.uk
But you're spending £420, which is about what I wanted to spend and I assume you know better than me. So Im thinking why dont I just buy the same as you?

What do you think?

manchester ben,ive been around computers since the spectrum age and know a lot about pcs however i dont know enough to build my own or advice on the spec you want, ill leave it to others a bit more in the know, note the system doesnt include a monitor which is ideal for me i already have a decent one,
malgall, thanks i will consider that option

All my pcs have been intel based can someone tell me if i choose the athlon 3800 dual core (48 extra) will i see a significant improvement over my current system
cheers
