If your making your own pc and buy all brand new oem items then how would you install windows xp home oem?

Someone once said that you have to create a system disck from another pc with the fdisk utility on it so you can format the drive is this true?

Then after that how do you register the cdrom drive to install xp or does the mobo normally auto detect cdroms?

All you do is set the BIOS to start with the CD drive as the first boot device and start with XP disc and it will boot and present you with the info to format the drive and load
