I have an old laptop running XP Home.I want to add a partition to enable me to run Win 3.1 I am happy to reformat the hard drive if neccessary and start from scratch.
When I run FDISK how do I allocate the partitions to give me 1GB for Win3.1 and 9GB for XP home?

when you set the first partition you can type in the % of disk for that partition or the size in MB's. Then make extended partition for the rest of the drive. Install windows 3.11 first and then with it running put the xp cd in and tell it to install in the 2nd partition.

Hi Howard 60.. Question: After formatting my hard drive and running FDISK, do I choose the option to enable large disk support and if I choose yes, set the primary drive to a % size will it be Fat 16 or Fat 32? If the answer is FAT 32 will I be able to mount Win 3.1on this partition?
