Will I need to reformat the HDD if I am changing motherboard or after boot up will i be able to install new drivers when windows XP loads

in my opinion it is always advisable to do a clean install when replacing a motherboard to avoid possible conflicts with drivers etc

if you are replacing like for like that would be the only time i would be tempted to cut the corner and not do a clean install
