MikeyT, what is the new motherboard, and does it have onboard graphics?

  MikeyT 11:09 31 Dec 03

It is a ASRock K7S8X FSB 333 Mhz DDR 400 supproting AGP 8X. I know that it's not the best but am just working within budget. The lolo port at the back seems to be shared with the monitor. Wanna photo?

Sorry if I am asking the obvious, but do you have a graphics card installed.

If so, which.

  MikeyT 11:21 31 Dec 03

My previous MSI-6738 had the slot on it for both lolol and a monitor.

Dont think this is onboard graphics are the connecters you are referring to a Serial port and gaming port?

Do you have a seperate agp graphics card?

  Rayuk 11:30 31 Dec 03

Looks as if your previous board had onboard graphics your new one doesnt.

  Gongoozler 11:31 31 Dec 03

I don't think you have onboard graphics click here.

Unless you want high end gaming performance you can get a very competent GF2 or GF4 graphics card for £25 to £50.

  MikeyT 12:02 31 Dec 03

I thought that may be the case and so will now buy one. Thanks for your help in this matter.

  minter 12:03 31 Dec 03

Sorry, but you need a graphics card.
