I've just bought a new monitor it is set to default settings of 60hz i'm running it @1024x768 would it be better running at 70hz all all i use my computer for is surfing no gaming, any advise gratefully accepted
It would be better runing at a higher resolution as creates a better picture and easyer on the eyes
it says it can run at 85hz but i did'nt know weather to try it or not ?
would setting it to it's maximum be best ?
deepblueuk, if it's a 17" monitor, you should set it to 1024 x 768, 32 bit colour and an 85hz refresh rate, the only obstacle you may have to this, is if your gfx card cannot support it.
If it's a TFT monitor, the normal setting is 60HzIf it's a CRT monitor (normal type with tube) - then the best setting (as has been said), is 85Hz.If it is a TFT, look in the manual for the standard setting - it is quite importatnt to use this on a TFT display.
