hi, getting new laptop delivered today, got windows 7, 3gb ram, 1.2 celeron 220 processor intergrated graphics. no pre installed software.
got another laptop with avira antivir free, spybot, ccleaner. would this do for the new laptop as well? older laptop uses vista. dont want to overload new one with unnecessaries as just for surfing and watching movies. any other suggestions much apprciated, many thanks.
ps. instead of getting office programs would anyone recommend open office for basic word processing tasks. thanks

Avast, SpywareBlaster, Windows Defender.

CCleaner isn't security software - it's a registry cleaner.

Have used AVG free on all of my computers for years now and would not change.

Open Office is good.
