New Laptop Advice

I am looking to buy a new laptop to augment my desktop. I like Dell products and have configured two specs. One is the Inspiron 1520 and the other the Inspiron 1521. The difference in price is £226 and I cannot really see why there is this discrepancy. Both machines have the same features except for the following:

The 1520 has an Intel 2 duo 1.83Ghz processor; the 1521 an AMD Turion 64 Dual at 1.85Ghz

The 1520 has a GeForce Go8600M GT with 256MB DDR2 graphics; the 1521 an ATI Radeon Xpress 1270 Hypermemory integrated card.

Would this account for the price difference?

Also both of course come with Vista Home Premium. There is an option for XP and I just wonder should I go for XP as my desktop is XP. Have the initial problems with Vista gone away now?

wjrt - thanks. Would this and the chip account for the price difference?

What about Vista or XP?
