new home network

im fairly new to all this but im hoping to set up a home network.we have virgin cable broadband. i have a wireless dell laptop ( no internet at present) , which i would like to get wireless internet on, a sony ps 3 that i would like to connect wirelessley and a dell desktop pc that has wired internet on at the moment but do not mind if its wired or wireless in the future . i have a netgear WNR834B wireless n router.

where do i start ?

As i understand U have set up the desk top to access internet through the router..

First i will help you to set up wireless internet in laptop.

--Step1:from the desktop.. open the internet explorer and type in the router address. which is or
--step2:enter the user name and password for the router.
--step3:you can find the blue screen in left hand -side. in that select wireless settings under "set up" category.
--Step4:you can see options like ssid, region,channel, mode.
enter ssid with your first name, select appropriate region,channel is 11 and mode is g and b.
--step5:security options, select WEP. authentication type:automatic
encryption strength:64 bit.
phassphrase leave it blank.
In key1 text box enter the numbers 1234567890 and click on apply button.

Then go to the laptop,

step 1: remove the preferred networks from the lap top and try connecting to your network.

the steps to remove preferred networks.
-->click on start.
-->go to control panel.
-->double click on network connection.
-->double click on network and sharing center.
-->On the left hand side of the screen select "Manage wireless networks"
-->In the below Screen all the Wireless N/Ws which are in range will be listed.
-->To delete the wireless N/Ws, select the Wireless N/Ws & click on Remove which will remove that particular N/W. This is the Preferred N/Ws in Win Vista
-->make sure prefeered network is blank and exit out from all the windows.
-->then click on start menu.
-->click on "connect to".
-->it will show up your network name(your first name).
-->connect to your network by entering wep key(1234567890)and click on connect.
-->check whether you are able to go online from the laptop..

Steps for PS3.

-->scan for the wireless network from PS3.
-->it will show up your name in the list.
-->connect to it with the key 1234567890.
-->check you able to go online.
-->,and this is DNS address for sony PS3. assign it.
