My friends computer reported that S.M.A.R.T. was advising that the drive was failing. I made an image of the drive which was successful and copied that to an old Maxtor 40g drive. When I put this back in his machine it was asking drivers for the hard drive and that none could be found. Any advice? It's a Maxtor gl040j2 and the machine is a mesh computer

It should not need drivers, onlyif it's SATA. as Windows should load some so that it works. As motherboard Drivers been loaded?
