New hard drive

Hi, I there a program I can download that will alow me to fit a new hard drive and put an exact copy of my old drive on to it ? I have used Maxtor Maxblast before, but this will only work with Maxtore drives. What I want is one that will work with most other drives. Thank you, Dennis

Hi, Sorry, It should read "Is there" and "allow me to fit. Ta, Dennis

Norton Ghost or Drive Image will both do this but they cost - about £30 each as far as I can remember.

Some people here recommend xxcopy for the task but I have not used it.

If you go to the drive manufacturers site you can normally download a utility to do this(like Maxblast) but, as you say, it will only work with that make of drive. I just keep copies of them all.
