New Hard Drive

Hi all,

I am going to upgrade my C drive from 40 GB to 200GB. I have other large "data" drives in my PC but my apps and OS are on C which is too small.
I have win XP pro which is an upgrade disck to my previous WinME.
Is there an easy way to transfer the info from the old disk to the new? Will I have to reinstall everything from scratch? Will I have to re activate everything? I have recently upgraded the graphics card and a DVD writer too?

You tips and advice would be appreciated.

western digital harddrives have a copy program which it will clone a h/d one to the other.i would still back up everything first.have a look at the make of your 40gig h/d and check there we site to see if they have similar.

You may also find that you are restricted to a maximum of 137gb hard drive. In which case you would need to partition the drive for it to be recognised/usable. I have a Maxtor 250gb and used Maxblast 4 to do just that.
