New Graphics card help....

  WrathMaster 18:09 21 Aug 03

I have installed an Nvidia GeForce 4 MX 440 on my computer. My computer already had 16 mb of graphics on the motherboard, do I need to uninstall the old graphics for my new card to work properly?

What motherboard do you have??

On some boards when you add graphics card the onboard graphics are disabled automatically, and then on others you may have to alter a bios setting or use jumper.

If you are going from nvidia to nidia no need to alter drivers but if previous graphics were sis/ati etc you have to uninstal old drivers before installing card and instal new ones after you have installed the card.

Hello, my motherboard is old.
It is made by PC266, it is a Socket A, M810 series.

Is it agp or pci card?

Go into Bios and disable the graphics on board, then reinstall the new G/C. You might have to uninsatll the new card first if you have already installed it and it does not work.
