Is this new fan OK for my Sony Vaio PCV-HX81S PC?

My Sony Vaio has been making fan noise for a few minutes on start up. I took it to the PC repair shop and was told a repair would take two weeks. I bought a fan to change it myself which should be a 10 minute job. The fan is the right size (70 mm) but when I got home I noticed the specs on the two fans are different. I am not an electrician so I wonder if someone can tell me if I can use the fan I bought or if it will cause my PC to fry? The PC is a Sony Viao desktop: PCV-HX81S maxed with IGB RAM.

As both fans are 12volts DC it will work and certainly won't do any harm but may not be powerful enough to cool correctly.
Your original fan is rated at 3.5 watts as opposed to the new fan which is only 0.96 watts.
I would try and get one nearer 3.5 watts if I were you.
