A new CD writer or DVD writer

This maybe a bit of a dumb question. But I need to upgrade my ancient CD Writer, This is used mainly to save my image files, as these are 14.5Mb approx Tiffs. I can only manage to save 40+ to a disk, so the question is would a DVD writer be suitable, if so any recommendations.

Many thanks. HS

I don't know the spec's for it, but if you want it you will have to be quick.

4.7GB DVD-R disks can be as cheap as 45p each.

personally i would still go for a CD RW for now u can pick a decent one up for about £40 and the disk r so cheap it's unbelieveable. hang on to that for about 6 months and then buy a dvd rewriter when the cost of one will have come substancially down and the improvement in quality will be vast
