Back on the learning curve.
If the Asus K8V mobo states for storage

South Bridge:2xATA133; 2xSATA,Raid 0 Raid 1

Promise RAID controller: 1xUDMA133 supports two HDD; 2xSerial ATA RAID 0 RAID 1 RAID 0+1.

The mobo website claims 10 drives can be arranged from these terminals.

But does this mean I can install on the South Bridge
2 HDD as Primary master & Slave
2 DVD-RW/CD-RW as Secondary master & slave
SATA 1 HDD as a non RAID drive and also
SATA 2 HDD as a non RAID drive
Giving me 4 HDDs and two DVD/CD writers?
I want the 4 HDDs to cover for normal work and video editing.
Thanks for your help and advice.

I have the Asus A7N8X Deluxe and you can have 4 hard drives. At the moment I have 3 attached 2 on IDE and 1 on SATA.I would have thought your board would be the same.
