New battery - Original brand or generic?

I'm just after a bit of advice really, my Sony Vaio Laptop battery has died and so I need to buy a replacement.

But I am not sure whether to stick to a Sony branded original battery or go with a generic compatible battery?

Does anyone have any experience or opinions about this?

Is there much difference between the two? If not am I just as well to save a bit of money and just buy a generic battery.

Any info or advice would be much appreciated.

A generic will do the job just as well.

You need to take care as Branded will have to come up to speck for the maker of your Laptop. Buying any other is a hit and miss experience

So are you saying that some generic (in my case non Sony) betteries may not work with the laptop?

Will work but for how long?

I don't see any reason why a Generic can't last as long as an original, or even longer.

Some Will, Its a Chance you have to take for paying cheaper price
