networking two computers

me and my boy both have a pc what is the best way of linking them together so we can play games and he can access the internet via my pc. his computer is in his room and mine is downstairs in the living so I guess wireless would be best but what would i need to achieve this?

If you have broadband (ADSL or Cable?) then I would go for a Wireless Router (with a built in Modem if you have ADSL). This will perhaps cost about <£130. This would mean your PC doesn't have to be on for your son to access the internet.

Some have built in parental control features too.

Then you can get two Wireless PC Cards and pop these in each computer. ~ £50 each.

how far downstairs one flight or two,how many walls between the PC's?

just a though before you go out and buy something that might not work right...

I've seen wireless have problems with walls and different levels.....
