Networking through household electric ring main

Has anyone any experience of using a house ring-main for networking? I'm thinking of, e.g. ZyXEL PL-100 Powerline Ethernet Adapter.

Our house has 2 feet thick stone walls, and I don't think a wireless signal will work.

Thanks to Strawballs and Ashrich.
