Networking and SP2

I have a desktop running XP Pro (without SP2), connected by wires to a router. I have a laptop connected to the router by a wireless card. Everything worked fine untill I loaded SP2 onto the laptop. Now I cannot connect to the internet on the latop and it does not recognise the desktop as being in the same network. I have checked the network set up and it appears OK. Does anypne have any advice that could help me restore my connection. My Network Connections show the wireless card as being connected.

Check the Windows Firewall, included with SP2. Go to Control Panel & double click Windows Firewall, then go to the advanced tab and make sure the wireless network is checked. T.

Thanks for the advice. Found that the network had been changed to from "adhoc". Reset it and all is OK.
