networking and security

I am part of a netework 1 of 10 the internet is supplied by our landlord wirelessly.

I was a little annoyed to find out that he was able to find out what sites we were visiting.

I'm not sure how he can do this and have nothing to hide regarding the sites i visit. I just feel its an intrusion on our privacy.

Is there any software por setting i can use to prevent this.

My router keeps a log which shows:

- Date
- Time
- Computer's Name on the network
- Computer's LAN IP address
- Destination website

If you connect via the Landlord's wireless network and his router logs all activity, there is not a lot you can do about it.

Thanks for your response thought that may be the case, was hoping there was something i could do.

guess the answer is to get another provider and cancel the one i have.

I don't know enough about VPNs to say 100%, but I think they encrypt everything from your PC. If you subscribe to a VPN service such as click here
then you might be able to have everything encrypted until it gets to the VPN server and voila.
