Networking info required

Hi all. I am in the process of installing a home network kit and have stupidly lost the leaflet showing how to wire the jacks up !!! I have a diagram on the packs but it shows two versions - an A & B diagram which is colour coded as are the jacks. Why is this which version should I wire up to? Can anyone shed any light?

these two versions may be for 2 different standards. one was designed for 100mbps networks, one for 10mbps. although the 100 one is backwards compatible with the 10 one, I dont see why the 10 one is still hanging around.

have a look here, they describe it pretty well i think.

I cant find a picture of exactly which order to put the colours (it DOES matter for 100mbps, not for 10). If you dont care, just make sure each end of the cable looks identical, not mirrored!

Im sure someone can provide a picture of the correct layout....
