Network W2K and Millennium

Hi folks,

I'm trying to network a pc with W2K to a laptop with Millennium edition.

Both have their own I.P. address and are in the same Workgroup. The W2K PC can see the laptop in the workgroup and can access all files and folders.

The Millennium Edition laptop can see the W2K PC in the network neighbourhood but asks for a password (which I don't know if I have set up properly!) and then says that I don't have permissions to access the PC. The entire C: drive on W2K PC is shared. I have created a user on the W2K PC with the user name of the Laptop's network identity.

I'm not used to using Millennium Edition as I am a complete W2K convert. Does anyone know what the problem may be? It's probably something simple I've overlooked which hopefully someone can elighten me on!

Thanks in advance.
