network sending unknown packet

I recently noticed my router sending packets to uknown IP sources(1 st packet to IP 224.0.0.5 then ten to 239.255.255.250 then one back to 224.0.0.5)I searched net for answers and came up with this sight click here
has any one heard of this before ,and can simplify in any way much appreciated thanks

PS seems to be sending packets on a daily basis...

If it is UPnP then turn the Service off ...in xp Go to the Control Panel and Administrator Tools choose Services...scroll down the list and Set UPnP to Disabled its not needed and is a known security risk.... see if it still occurs.

Is this correct UPnP is used for plug and play ,do I need it on my LAN for reconizing Laptops pluggging in and out.If so can I add a filter to block all UPnP from going to WAN.

also seems to be broadcasting always,with SSDP????
still haven't investigated this one !
