network problem

i have networked two computers together. the one without an internet connection cans access the internet. both computers can see the network. but neither computer can access the other one.
any ideas

Have you given the folders you want to share permission to allow file sharing?.

if you have zone alarm set firewall internet security to medium and trusted to low

Are you running firewalls if so have you set them up for sharing, i.e. IP addresses of both computers.

Both computers should be on the same Workgroup. The default is often (confusingly) called workgroup!

Each machine should have a different name.

Try opening a command prompt (Programs; Accessories) and type;

ping {opposite computer name]

So, if your XP machine is called grapes for example, from the ME machine type, "ping grapes" (no quotes) and let us know the result.
