Network Operating Systems

I'm trying to set up a home network with XP Pro on my desktop PC and Win2000 on my laptop. All the cables are attached, I've run the wizard and information is being transferred but I can't see any of it. Are these two OS's compatable on a network?

In short - Yes!

Have you set up file sharing?

I'd like to give more advice but don't feel qualified to advise. I can only tell you that I run two x win2k, one x XP pro & wireless laptop on win2k ... thats why I'm sure it can be done

Also try turning off any firewalls that you have and see if it then works. This is easier to do to start with and they can be configured to allow network access later.

Win 2000 and XP cannot be setup using the XP CD or disk as 2000 won't accept it, so it'll have to be done manually.
