Network Diagnostic Software for Laptops required.

Are there any network diagnostic software utilities/programmes/tools out there that can be installed onto a laptop/notepad for testing cable/socket integrity, rather than buying specific cable testers?

For me it would be very useful to have the software on a laptop, then just connect it to a socket via the UTP/RJ45 and run test from the pc rather than spend more money on extra tools.

Cheers!

In a word NO. All that a cable tester does is to test the electrical connection between 2 points.

It is a reliable piece of kit and for its ability to diagnose faulty wiring or RJ45 connections is very cheap at around £50.
