network connections question.

To prepare myself for going wireless, i looked into my PC network connection.
My wife user's the Ethernet cable for her xbox 360 and so she set it up and made a mess of it.

I have 4 icons.

In the dial up area i have
Local area connection
tiscali broadband and than a tick next to it
(so this is my broadband connection)

The next 3 i am not sure about.

Network bridge
connection bridged
1394 net adapter

network bridge

local area connection
network cable unplugged
via rhine 11 fast Ethernet ad
(this had a cross by it)

Now my question is am i Ethernet ready for broadband. We do use the Ethernet for the xbox but is it ready for wireless.
I read that the Ethernet shout be enabled but i cannot do this.

Any help is appreciated.

You are ethernet ready for broadband. Try plugging in a lead between your router and the pc.

Whether you're wireless ready can depend on a couple of things - is it a desktop or laptop.

Desktop will require you to buy a wireless card to install as they don't come as standard.

Laptop will be wireless enabled if bought new within the last few of years - check the handbook, you may need to buy a wireless card for it.

Not got my wireless router yet.

Its a desktop pc

I thought you only needed a usb broadband adapter.Would i need a still wireless card?

My xbox 360 works with the ethernet cable

What do I do about all the bridging that was created when the xbox 360 was set up.

Under local area connections it says
network cable unplugged
via rhine 11 fast Ethernet ad
(this had a cross by it)

So when my wireless router comes will i be ready to install it?

Thank you

I noticed on the
local area connections
network cable unplugged
via rhine 11 fast Ethernet ad
(this had a cross by it)

If I right click this and than click undo bridge, would this enable this connection ready for wireless.
