Network Connection Problem

  woodm01 21:45 07 Sep 03

I am attempting to connect my 2 home pcs together for Internet etc without success.

1 PC has the LAN port on the motherboard (Gigabyte 8KNXP Ultra) and the other has a standard Ethernet card installed connected via a RJ45 crossover cable. I cannot get these to connect but if I change settings on the PC with the Gigabyte port the network enables for a few seconds, then disconnects (what am I doing wrong?)

Also, can anybody give ma any advice on Roaming Profiles.

Which version of windows are you using? if you are using XP then try the Network setup wizard which will do it all for you

I am using Windows XP Professional on both machines and I have tried the Network setup wizard which just states the cables are disconnected when they aren't.
