Hi,
I'm trying to setup a simple home network on two computers so i can share files and play multiplayer games. Both computers have winxp pro sp1 installed and 3com 3c905b-tx NIC cards. I have also installed the offical 3com drivers from their website for the cards (dated 13/08/02). The problem is that i have connected a cable between the 2 computers (3m cat5e cable) and each time i enable connections, it just comes up with FAILED. I tried pinging each computer on its own (127.0.0.1) and all is OK, but whatevere i try, it just doesn't work and i'm STUMPED. Ages ago, wen i tried one computer with another with the same card, as soon as i plugged in the card, all was ok. I've read several suggestions on the web and all i can think of. Any ideas would be appreciated!!!
Many Thanks

The cable is OK, i've tried 2 different cables and still no difference.

It was the cable, apprently, the 2nd cable was a crossover but faulty so i got a new one. Thanks ßéLâ.
