Network cannot see USB printer

I have a network set up (hard wired using Network adapters and RJ45 cable, and a parallel printer, which works perfect, set as a network printer, however I have a USB printer that works fine on the machine it is connected to (XP), the software is also installed on a Win98 machine, which loaded the software as a network printer, but refuses to send any data to the printer. Suggestions please.

Have you made sure you've set the shared status of the printer so it can be seen on the network?

Yes, I can share my other printer (Paraell), no problem. The problem seems to be finding the MAC address to connect
