I have a pc with a Lan connected Netgear834g wireless router connected to AOL using a BT line and a wireless connection via a ASUS167g usb adapter, with WPA encription, to a second pc. The wireless signal strength is 80-90%. ADSL connection to the first pc is fine, but when I connect the second pc, after a few minutes, the router incoming signal light flashes from green to amber and the wireless pc loses its connection. BT have checked the line and say it is fine. Any suggestions please?

Maybe the USB dongle is faulty..came across one recently which worked intermittantly. Have you got a mate with a wireless laptop that could test the conection for you?

Have as look here..click here . You must assign a new screen name to the router. Ie create a new screen name in AOL WITH +18 rating and password. Then when setting up the router use the new screen name and password for the router only. This ensures that you won't get dissconnected with a home network.
