Netgear Wireless setup problem

  Richard 12:19 31 Dec 03

I have a small home network and have just got a Netgear WGR614 Wireless Router with the intention of getting broadband in the near future. The problem is I cannot get my laptop (Windows XP Home) with a Netgear WG511 Wireless card to see or be seen by a PC (Windows XP Home)hardwired to the router. The laptop will see itself in the network but nothing else. I have tried disabling the Norton firewall and the windows firwall. Everyone seems to say Netgear is easy to setup. What am I doing wrong?

but i have just had a 2 hour struggle to get working here. The only way I resolved it was by running the config prog in opera rather than I.E. (the code) and that worked... I was about to post here and ask for help when it started working. it is indeed a strange world isn't it
