netgear wireless adapter and VISTA

Not a big fan of VISTA,so my knowledge of this OS is limited. So any help is appreciated..

I have installed a netgear wireless USB adapter WG111T,using the latest drivers.

The same adapter has been used on a PC running XP with out any annoying issues.

When the software is installed, and configured to connect to a network. The only way create/establish the connection is by using VISTA's own network connection app.

The adapter will not connect using the netgear drivers/software.It detects the networks available, but will not connect.

Is this the norm for VISTA?.
