netgear RP614 router

Thinking of getting the above router to connect my 3 PCs to the cable modem. At the moment the pcs are connected via x-over cables. do i need to change these cables to straight cat5 patch cables, or the unit capable of converting them.

Please help.

Most(maybe all) modern switches are auto sensing re straight through/x over.

use crossover cables for the following cabling:

switch to switch

switch to hub

hub to hub

router to router

PC to PC

router to PC

taken straight from the CISCO CCNA 1 & 2 book, that should answer your question
