Netgear router firewall?

  Pepper9 18:05 14 Aug 08

Does my Netgear router have an internal firewall that could be blocking access to the internet from both IE7 and Firefox? I keep getting some pages (random) where I get the message "unable to open page".

If so, how can I check it or change it please?

A router's hardware firewall provides protection from unwanted traffic *FROM* the internet. It shouldn't restrict outgoing traffic from your PC, which is why it is usually suggested that a software firewall be installed too. Then control can be exercised over which programs are allowed to go online.
