this adapter has a USB connection. I assume that you're running WinXP SP2 - did you run the Netgear software before you tried to plug in the adpater? If so, did WinXP recognise the new USB device when you plugged it in, and did it pick up the Netgear driver?

If it didn't, please explain exactly what happens when you plug the adapter into the USB port.

yes installed software 1st then pluged in the usb no did not recognise the new USB device and no did not pick up the Netgear driver

as if the reinstall has glitched. Do you have USB support for anything at all - any other USB devices?
