type 192.168.0.1 into your address bar and hit enter

defaults are "admin" and "password"

Thanks, i did put the address in my address bar but cannot find what i need there and i am not experienced enough to play around with it.
As the defaults i kept admin but changed the password which i haven't forgotten. what i have forgotten is the network key - the routers network key.
Admin and password is to get into the netgears site which is working for me.
How do i find the routers network key? E.

when in the router settings click on wireless settings on the left and key should be at bottom of page

On the left side look for wireless setup.

Found it, thanks. it was as i thought it was but my daughter's laptop wouldn't accept it for some reason.
we are having a lot of problems with her lappy and i think i might have to flatten/format her hard drive but didn't want to - it keeps freezing up and i have cleaned it and there is no yellow marks in device manager and i have deleted, via ccleaner, all the programms she doesn't want so i am lost and thinking of formatting her hard drive. do you agree? E.
