Netgear messed with my logon. Any ideas?

Hi everyone

I just installed a Netgear WG111 USB adapter today and started experiencing
problems with my logon (WinXP). I can no longer get the welcome screen
or use fast user switching.
When I attempted to change the logon process back, I received an error message that directed me to delete the file RtlGina2.dll in order to access the windows user & logon control page? After inspecting the properties on RtlGina2.dll I found there was no information to help understand origin or purpose of this file.
I have read on another forum that Netgears solution was to edit the Registry and remove the GINAdll. Open Reg Editor and navigate to HKEY_Local_machine/software/microsoft/windowsNT/current version/winlogon and delete the keyGINAdll.

How do I do this, or indeed should I do this (I am loathed to mess with the registry), or is there another way?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

system restore to before the problem and reinstall the adapter in safe mode might be a solution.
