Netgear icon not showing in taskbar?

  mikegm7 05:11 05 Jun 07

I have just done a clean XP Home install on my desktop. Loaded the netgear (wireless)utility, but is not showing up in taskbar and is not running. When I boot up there is a brief flash of the interface, but then nothing shows in the taskbar so in effect I cannot access the Netgear Smart Wizard for settings and accessing the internet. Thanks in advance.

Have a look in Start, All Programs for a program named Netgear.

To ensure that icons show in the task bar, right-click om a blank area of the bar and choose Properties; Customise.

You will now see a list of programs. Look for Netgear and, at the right-hand side (under Behaviour), click against whatever is currently showing. Choose 'Always Show', click OK; Apply and OK.

Tried both these suggestions, obviously start programmes right at the beginning, but nothing. There is a Netgear folder, showing the items, but cannot run /setup the utility, so in effect cannot get onto the internet.

try click here
reset taskbar

I downloaded the latest drivers/utilities onto a pen drive, and transferred them to the 'other' pc!
