Netgear DG834G V3 use on other networks

Hi,
I bought an AOL Netgear DG834G V3 wireless router pack a few months ago and have since moved networks (sky) and have been sent a new router which is installed and works fine.

Can the AOL router be configured for use on other Networks? Is there software available rather than using the supplied AOL disc?

I would like to install in my Fathers home who already has a broadband connection (not AOL).

Thanks

It should work fine as long as your fathers ISP is ADSL and not cable.

Others should be able to help with setup without disc as my experience is with cable routers.

You do not need the Set-up Disc, you just need to go to click here and change the login, if that fails then restore it to defaults through the Web Interface.

The Netgear username and password are set by default to "admin" and "password" respectively, without the quotes.

This will let you log on to your router using the link shown above (192.168.0.1) and change the ISP details.

Connection Type = PPPoA

VPI/VCI = 0/38

Encapsulation = VCMUX

User Name & Password that your dad presently use to access his present service

Sorry about that the click here should read (192.168.0.1)

Thanks both for your help. I'll give this a go this weekend.
