Can Anyone help with this problem. I recently replaced my BT USB modem`with a Netgear DG834G router/modem. MSN Messenger worked OK until the changeover. I have changed the default Inbound rule to allow all port access, as this appears the only way to allow MSN ports 6901,6891,6900 to be accesssed. My ISP is AOL. There is no fix on Netgears Web Site.

Thanks Syd

You should have a page for `services` in the config where you can open one port or specific ranges. Port 1863 for MSN too, the ports you mentioned are for file transfers I believe.

Log into the router, Go to Wan Config, and change the MTU size to 1400. That should solve your problem.
